In late December 2017 the Technology Development Fund announced the funded projects of autumn 2017, where Gerosion was one of the lucky companies that got funded. The grant received was for the project: Sacrificial Casing for High Temperature Geothermal Wells, which is carried out in collaboration with the Faculty of Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science of the University of Iceland. The project manager of the project is Dr. Sigrún Nanna Karlsdóttir. Gerosion has also brought a new employee on board, namely Regína Þórðardóttir which is conducting a M.Sc. project in Industrial Engineering at the University of Iceland within the AlSiment binder project of Gerosion. Regina‘s M.Sc. project is titled: Mapping of waste materials from the aluminium industry and the feasibility of their usage in industrial processes. Regina‘s project is funded by both the Icelandic Aluminium Cluster and Gerosion. We welcome Regina on board!
